The EHS Travelling Fellowship 2018 will support two young hip surgeons to visit top orthopaedic centres in Europe for three weeks during Spring 2018.

Applicants can be non-members of EHS and should be European orthopaedic specialists with academic potential and an interest in high level knowledge of hip surgery. The aim for the Fellows is to make contacts and receive comprehensive training in all aspects of hip surgery.

The two Travelling Fellows will be selected by the EHS ExCom and will automatically become EHS members (free for a year). They will be guests at our EHS Congress in 2018 in The Hague and are obliged to give a short oral and written presentation on their Fellowship there.

A Travelling Fellowship fund of up to €3,000 will be awarded by EHS to each Fellow to cover the cost of transport, accommodation, food and other essential expenses.

Candidates must meet these requirements:

  • Age not older than 45 at time of application deadline
  • Major interest in orthopaedic hip surgery
  • Scientific Works (publications, research reports on hip surgery)
  • Satisfactory knowledge of English
  • Completed orthopaedic training with extra experience in hip surgery
  • Resident of an EHS member country

  • CV in English including:-
    date of birth
    description of current position and clinical responsibilities
    list of publications and presentations at scientific meetings
  • 2 letters of recommendation

It is possible that no application may be considered suitable and the committee’s decision on all matters will be final.
