The half day “EHS Advanced Course in Total Hip Replacement” was very well attended and appreciated at EFORT, London. The topics of the course were:

  • Cemented and cementless stems, good and bad examples of both.
  • Best prostheses for fractures.
  • Thromboembolic prophylaxis and bleeding.
  • Mini incisions, improvement or risk project.
  • Short stems- improvement or risk project.
  • Dislocation of THA, risk factors and treatment.
  • Modularity- and trunion-problems.
  • Metal on metal, follow up and revisions.
  • Revision of the infected THA.
  • Revision of the Acetabular component.
  • Revision of the femoral stem.
  • Periprosthetic fractures.

Therefore, for the next EFORT congress in Prague, the “EHS Advanced Course” was doubled.
